My Current Stand: A Journey of Faith from Branham to Christ
Beloved, many may not comprehend the stance I’ve embraced today. It brings me immense joy to adhere strictly to the Bible as my ultimate guide in this journey of faith.
A few years ago, I underwent profound crises of faith concerning God and the Bible. I raised questions for which my previous belief system had no satisfactory answers—none whatsoever. Even the prophet(William Branham) who was meant to provide clarity was at a loss.
You might have expected me to become an atheist or revert to traditional beliefs, but by God’s grace, I was rescued from the abyss of doubt. This experience underscored the profound weight and authenticity of the Bible, emphasizing the importance of thorough research. It taught me to prioritize the Bible above all else, regarding other teachings and materials as secondary or less valuable.
God employed individuals from outside my usual circle, along with biblical commentaries and timely prophetic words, to guide me back to solid ground. Among the most precious gifts I received during this time were a PowerBible CD loaded with commentaries by Deacon Peter Mireku and a Samsung Android Tablet gifted by my former boss, Philip Gborku. These tools significantly accelerated my Bible study, offering electronic accessibility and search capabilities.
Despite attending church, I found myself ill-equipped to weather these storms. Those around me were unaware of the inner turmoil I faced, and my leaders lacked the answers I sought. It’s worth noting that if my former pastor had been dogmatic, it might have exacerbated the situation. Thankfully, he encouraged a steadfast adherence to the Bible, allowing room for exploration.
Recalling numerous spiritual encounters, especially through dreams, reassured me during these tumultuous seasons. These experiences served as undeniable confirmation of God’s existence, particularly given my background in cessationist beliefs.
My journey has shaped me into a skeptic who seeks to scrutinize all things. My conversion occurred supernaturally, without human intervention, instilling in me an unwavering commitment to the Bible. However, I’ve since broadened my perspectives through exposure to alternative viewpoints, not as a skeptic but as a sincere seeker of truth.
There were moments of despair when suicide seemed a viable option, compounded by financial crises. Yet, through it all, God remained faithful. Today, I’m grateful for individuals like Emmanuel Amissah and Evangelist Degraft Wilberforce, whose apologetic insights stabilized my wavering faith.
Supernatural encounters, while significant, must always align with biblical truth. Sole reliance on such experiences is insufficient; truth derived from Scripture is essential for sustaining faith.
My present emphasis on apologetics reflects the invaluable role it played in preserving my faith. I cherish the Bible as a proven and trustworthy document, gifted to us by the trustworthy God. There’s no backup plan or supplementary text—it’s the Bible alone, sola scriptura!
I parted ways with my previous belief system due to its inherent inconsistencies. Unlike the Bible, which has withstood countless challenges, my former beliefs crumbled under scrutiny. This underscores the importance of unwavering belief in God’s Word.
To those who may question my departure from certain doctrines, rest assured—I remain steadfastly devoted to Jesus Christ and the Bible. My journey has enriched me with invaluable friendships and disciplined me in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
My allegiance to Jesus Christ and the Bible alone is unwavering. I refuse to elevate any man or doctrine above them. My stand epitomizes a commitment to love over law, the Bible over any other text, and Christ above all creeds.
Shalom,
Joshua Ahianyo
